Who we are

Mystery Boyfriend is personalized fiction delivered by mail, based in California, United States. You can reach us at hello@mysteryboyfriend.com.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist: your first name, email, and the answers you choose to give (such as the story you picked, your morning cup, and your envelope preference). If you opt in to texts, your phone number.

When you order: your name, email, and shipping address. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

When you answer your onboarding questions: the light, multiple-choice details you share so we can write your letters, such as your coffee ritual, favorite season, or an imaginary city you'd like him to write to.

When you visit the site: basic usage information collected by our website platform and by the Meta Pixel, such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and the ad that brought you here.

How we use it

• To write, print, and mail your personalized letters.
• To send order updates, your onboarding invitation, and, if you joined the waitlist, news about new stories.
• To send occasional story texts, only if you opted in.
• To measure and improve our advertising and website.

Your onboarding answers are used only to write your story. We never sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run Mystery Boyfriend:

• Stripe, to process payments and send receipts.
• Base44, which hosts our website and stores waitlist and onboarding data.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through the Meta Pixel, to measure ads.
• Our email and text providers, to deliver messages you've asked for.
• Postal carriers such as USPS and Canada Post, which receive your name and address to deliver your letters.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

How we protect it

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI compliant. Waitlist and onboarding records are stored with access limited to the site owner. Printed letters are kept private until mailed.

How long we keep it

We keep order and onboarding details for as long as needed to fulfill your story and for our tax and business records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, except what we're required to keep by law.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email.
• Stop texts at any time by replying STOP.
• Ask to see, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@mysteryboyfriend.com.

California residents have the right to know, correct, and delete personal information and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. Canadian residents have similar rights under PIPEDA. We don't sell personal information.

Age

Mystery Boyfriend is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes
